The shortest day of the year provided some superb opportunities to capture mid winter. Allerthorpe woods was particularly spectacular and the birds (albeit only common species were very obliging some coming as close as 2ft.

For anyone who doesn't know this is attaching a telescope to a compact camera and taking close up photos (rather like a telephoto lens)
My equipment consists of a kowa823 scope 27x and 32x lenses,a manfrotto tripod and either a Nikon Coolpix 8400 or P5100 camera.
